kearney area children's museum

Dobytown Kiwanis sponsors the Science and Nature Zone at the Kearney Area Children's Museum. The area was created and built by Jim and Sue Petersen with help from other club members. Dobytown Kiwanians volunteered over 1,200 hours were put into developing this area in 2010. The Galactic Lander was added to the Zone in 2011. Since the founding of the Science Zone an Interactive nature and astronomy kiosk has been added.

2010 The Science Zone featured a hands on Nature tent, phosphorescent wall and dinosaur dig.

Children can play with interactive Space and Astronomy Kiosks; weather and physics including a vortex unit display, astronaut helmets and the Galactic Lander that was built in 2011.
